This is the first piece i ever programmed.

I was facsinated by the idea that art could be, in essence entirely unique.

You think of art being a static thing, but what if art was about the present moment. What if art could always be about the present moment, what if the world could decide the outcome of art.

My work is about the present so how else can I explore this without first addressing time.

What is time.

In this piece, the hours of the days are one colour, minutes another. The program creates a random pattern by telling the time. In doing so it creates a pattern that tells the time using the number of dots, yet creates a new pattern. A new pattern that has never been seen before.

A pattern that will not repeat itself for the next 50 million years.

It’s time.

We are all unique in the present moment, and we will continue to be so for the rest of time.

My time is just as valuable as yours, because it’s being spent at the same rate.
